Child Dies in Thomasville House Fire; Two Officers Treated for Smoke Inhalation

For Immediate Release

On Thursday, March 12, 2026, a residential structure fire occurred at 313 Clinard Road in Thomasville, NC 27360.

The Pilot Fire Department, Triangle Fire Department, Thomasville Fire Department, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office and Davidson County Emergency Services responded to the scene. Fire and law enforcement personnel arrived to find a single-family dwelling heavily involved in fire.

Occupants informed responders that a child was trapped inside the structure. Fire service personnel entered the home and removed the child. Sadly, the child perished in the fire.

Two law enforcement officers were treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Davidson County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.
