A Road Reclaimed: Volunteers Triumph on Linwood-Southmont Road
Victory on Linwood-Southmont Road.
After four dedicated cleanup missions, Keep Davidson County Beautiful has officially conquered the 10.9-mile stretch of Linwood-Southmont Road — and they were thrilled to say: It’s DONE!
“It shouldn’t take four trips and a team of volunteers to undo the damage of what others leave behind. But thanks to our committed crew, this road is clean, clear, and beautiful once again.”
On their final trip today on Saturday alone, they collected:
• 8 more bags of litter
• 1 tire
• 1 fender
That brings our grand total to:
49 extra-large bags of trash
6 tires
4 bumpers
1 recliner
Let that sink in — all of this was illegally and carelessly tossed out. It took four trips and a team of volunteers to undo the damage of what others leave behind. But thanks to our committed crew, this road is clean, clear, and beautiful once again.
The group expressed appreciation to “volunteer heroes,” noting that. “Your time, energy, and heart make all the difference.”
Keep Davidson County Beautiful is an official chapter of the national Keep America Beautiful organization.
“Littering isn’t just ugly — it’s unfair. Let’s all do better,” said one organizer. “Please, don’t litter. Respect your roads, your neighbors, and your county.”
