Hospice of Davidson County Named a 2026 Best Place to Work in the Triad

LEXINGTON, N.C.— For the second consecutive year, Hospice of Davidson County has been recognized as one of the Piedmont Triad’s premier employers, ranking as the runner-up in its size category for the Triad Business Journal’s annual Best Places to Work awards. The organization stands out among regional finalists for its unwavering commitment to fostering an exceptional workplace culture.

The Best Places to Work program identifies and ranks the region’s top employers based entirely on anonymous employee engagement surveys administered by Quantum Workplace. This recognition marks a highly successful, multi-year streak for the organization, which was also honored as the runner-up in its size category during the 2025 awards program. The evaluations measure key cultural components, including team effectiveness, trust in senior leadership, employee appreciation, manager effectiveness, and compensation and benefits.

“At Hospice of Davidson County, we recognize that great care happens when we see our patients, caregivers, and clients as unique individuals with distinct needs,” said Laura Owen, CEO of Hospice of Davidson County. “Those observations inform expertly developed, individualized care plans that offer both comfort and support during a difficult season.

“Similarly, our agency offers professional growth and career development opportunities that value our staff as unique individuals with differing paths to success,” Owen said. “We are deeply honored to receive this recognition as the runner-up in our category for two consecutive years. Because we care so deeply about our team, we know that supporting them is the foundation of our mission: When our staff feels valued and empowered, they deliver the truly incredible care that those facing serious illness deserve.”

As a healthcare organization dedicated to providing dignity and peace to individuals navigating serious illnesses, Hospice of Davidson County prioritizes a culture of purpose and passion. This repeat recognition highlights the organization’s continuous efforts to provide a rewarding work experience, professional growth opportunities, and a strong sense of community for its workforce.

“We are incredibly honored to be recognized once again by the Triad Business Journal and, most importantly, by our own dedicated staff,” said Kristen Chafin, Director of People and Facility Operations at Hospice of Davidson County. “This recognition is a reflection of the collaborative, deeply supportive environment our employees cultivate every single day.”
