Lexington Farmers Market to Host Chili Cook-Off
The Lexington Farmers Market is turning up the heat this fall with a community favorite—its annual Chili Cook-Off, set for Saturday, September 6 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Depot District.
Think your chili recipe could take home bragging rights? This year’s event is an open competition, welcoming both seasoned cooks and first-time contenders. Contestants will face off in multiple categories, giving everyone more chances to walk away a winner.
Adding to the excitement, local guest judges will be on hand to taste, vote, and crown the champions. And with prizes on the line, you can bet the competition will be spicy.
Market organizers say more details—including how to enter—will be announced soon, but for now, they’re encouraging folks to start gathering those “secret ingredients” and perfecting their pots of chili.
The cook-off promises more than just competition—it’s also a chance to celebrate community, good food, and the local farmers market spirit. So whether you plan to stir the pot or just taste-test the results, mark your calendars.
After all, it’s not every Saturday you can shop fresh produce, chat with neighbors, and sample a lineup of Lexington’s boldest chili creations—all in one place.
