Lexington Police Investigate Shooting

Lexington, NC – November 12, 2025 – On Monday, November 10, 2025, at approximately 7:35 p.m., LPD officers were dispatched to a call for service related to a person being shot at Pure Gas Station and Padrino’s Restaurant located at 303 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. Upon arrival, officers located a male inside the store with injuries consistent with multiple gunshot wounds. This victim was identified as Jakeel Malik Craven, age 31, of Lexington. Officers immediately began rendering first aid to Craven until Emergency Medical Services personnel could arrive and continue medical treatment. Craven was quickly transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for continued treatment where he is currently listed in critical condition.

Lexington Police Department Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene and began an extensive investigation into the shooting incident. Investigators determined that Craven was shot by an unknown assailant while Craven was sitting in his car in the parking lot. After being shot, Craven ran into the store, which is where officers found him.

Investigators have processed the scene and other available evidence, and detectives continue to very actively investigate this incident.
