Lexington Bar to Host Oktoberfest Celebration with Root Beer Twist, Sept. 27th
Lexington is raising a glass—or a mug—to community spirit this Saturday with an all-day Oktoberfest celebration that has every bar in town joining the fun. Patrons can expect festive foods, themed activities, and plenty of reasons to linger uptown.
But the spotlight event promises to be as fizzy as it is funny: a Root Beer Chugging Competition at Short Circuit. At 3 p.m., twelve contestants will line up behind a long table on the patio in front of the bar, each staring down a frosty 32-ounce mug of root beer. With the iconic Lexington mural as their backdrop, they’ll battle for bragging rights and a $50 cash prize.
Organizers say the contest will be streamed live from Short Circuit’s Facebook page, making it easy for folks who can’t attend to cheer on their favorites from afar.
“It’s all in good fun,” organizers shared. “We wanted something lighthearted that would make people laugh and come together, and what better way than a root beer chug with a little cash and a lot of bragging rights on the line?”
The Oktoberfest activities will run throughout the day at participating bars, giving Lexington locals and visitors alike the chance to sample seasonal drinks, enjoy food specials, and soak up the festival atmosphere.
Whether you’re there for the beer, the root beer, or just the laughs, this Saturday’s Oktoberfest is shaping up to be a memorable celebration.
