Passport Day in Davidson County March 23

Passport Day in Davidson County March 23

If you are planning to travel soon, you know there are many details involved with your logistics. If your travel will be out of the country, there can be additional layers of challenges.

Davidson County's Clerk of Court is offering a special day on Saturday, March 23rd, for anyone to apply for a passport or renew an existing one.

This event is being offered for those who cannot easily get to the clerk's office during their normal business hours. It is difficult to take time off from work for many, so this will provide a more favorable day to tend to this necessary requirement for foreign travel.

The federal State Department is reporting that the current wait time for a passport is 6-8 weeks. If you pay an additional fee of $60, the expedited wait time is 2-3 weeks. Individuals may select to receive either a passport card or the traditional passport book, which is more expensive.

Applicants must bring a certified copy of their birth certificate, driver's license and passport photos. Applications can be found at www.travel.state.gov and must be completed in black ink.

If you have more questions about Passport Day, you can reach the County Clerk's office at 336-242-6707.
