FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Arts Davidson County Launches New Listening Room Series with Award-Winning Songwriter Kristy Jackson and Local Artist Jack Riggs

LEXINGTON, N.C. — Arts Davidson County is proud to announce the launch of The Listening Room Series, a new concert series designed to bring exceptional live music experiences to Davidson County. The inaugural event will feature award-winning singer-songwriter Kristy Jackson and local singer-songwriter Jack Riggs for an intimate evening of music, stories, and community.

The concert will take place at Arts Davidson County’s downtown arts center at 202 North Main Street in Lexington and serves as a fundraising event benefiting Arts Davidson County’s arts education and community arts programs.

The Listening Room Series is a new initiative created to showcase talented musicians in an intimate setting where audiences can connect with artists and experience the stories behind the songs. Future concerts will feature a rotating lineup of artists representing a variety of musical genres, including folk, Americana, country, blues, jazz, and acoustic music, creating a welcoming space for music lovers throughout the region.

“We are thrilled to launch this new series and create another way for our community to experience the arts,” said Amanda Feliciano, Executive Director of Arts Davidson County. “The Listening Room Series will bring audiences closer to the music while supporting artists and expanding access to quality live performances in Davidson County.”

Headlining the inaugural event is award-winning singer-songwriter Kristy Jackson, whose songs have been recorded by major recording artists and featured in film and television. She is best known for writing the Top 5 country hit “Take It Back,” recorded by Reba McEntire, and for her emotionally powerful song “Little Did She Know (She’d Kissed A Hero),” which received national attention following the events of September 11 and supported charitable fundraising efforts. Jackson’s work has reached millions of listeners and continues to resonate with audiences across the country through both recordings and live performance.

Joining Jackson will be local singer-songwriter Jack Riggs, whose authentic songwriting, musicianship, and engaging performances have earned him a loyal following throughout the region.

The Listening Room Series reflects Arts Davidson County’s ongoing commitment to enriching the cultural life of the community through diverse arts programming. By presenting artists in a listening-focused environment, the series offers audiences a unique opportunity to experience live music in a more personal and meaningful way.

Proceeds from this inaugural concert will support Arts Davidson County’s efforts to provide arts education, exhibitions, performances, and creative opportunities throughout Davidson County.

Arts Davidson County is also seeking sponsors and community partners for future Listening Room Series events. Sponsorship opportunities help support artist fees, production costs, and arts programming while providing businesses and individuals with meaningful visibility throughout the series. The organization plans to grow the Listening Room Series into a signature concert program featuring artists from across North Carolina and beyond while showcasing the rich musical talent found right here in Davidson County.
