Chicken Dinner: Educational Scholarships, Homeless Care Package, Fundraiser Drive
On August 21, 2026, Classmates 1973, Alumni & Affiliates, Inc., a nonprofit organization in Thomasville, NC, will host its Annual 1/2 BBQ Port-A-Pit Chicken Dinner fundraiser to support student scholarships advancement and care packages for individuals experiencing homelessness. “Chicken Dinners Express” delivery is available for orders of 10 or more dinners within a 15-minute radius. You can support this effort by volunteering, purchasing tickets, or helping sell tickets. The fundraiser benefits students from Davidson County Schools, EDHS, LCS/LSHS, and others who depend on scholarship assistance. We hope you will volunteer and your students will participate to earn community service hours in this essential fundraiser event.
We ask Board of Commission BOC, School Board members, TCS/DCS-EDSH, LCS -Superintendents, Booster Club Members, Mayor's/Staff, City Council Members, County Managers, City Hall staff, Tourism Director, Librian Director, Davidson County businesses, Social Services Directors, Public Directors Healthcare Department, Lexington Sheltor Director, Davidson Medical Director, faith communities, churches, families, and community partners to help share this fundraiser through social media, websites, bulletin boards, billboards, monitor announcements, and other communication channels. Please let us know how many tickets you would like to purchase or distribute.
If you are out of state or unable to attend, you can still contribute by donating through the QR code on the enclosed fliers. All proceeds will support higher educational scholarships and homeless care package initiative.
We also request permission to place Homeless Care Items Collection Boxes in your facility from August 1 through November 7, 2026. A representative will check the boxes weekly. Please refer to the attached Homeless Care Items flyer for the list of requested items. Your support will help create more scholarship opportunities and provide needed care packages for individuals experiencing homelessness in Davidson County.
