Connecting Through Culture Launches 6-Week Creative Art Workshop for Youth in Thomasville
THOMASVILLE, NC — Connecting Through Culture, in partnership with The Arts Academy at Memorial and the City of Thomasville Parks & Recreation, is launching a six-week Creative Art Workshop to inspire young artists and bring the community together through creativity and culture.
Beginning August 5, 2026, children ages 7–12 will participate in hands-on art classes led by Kendrick Jobe, a local art instructor, in a welcoming environment that encourages creativity, confidence, and cultural appreciation.
The workshop will be offered in English and Spanish, making it accessible to families from different backgrounds and helping create meaningful connections across cultures.

Cost: $100 for the entire six-week program. All art supplies are included.
Participants Will:
Learn new art techniques from professional instructors.
Explore creativity through hands-on projects.
Build confidence in a supportive environment.
Meet other young artists from diverse backgrounds.
Display their artwork in a community gallery exhibition at the conclusion of the program.
"Our goal is to make art accessible while creating spaces where children from different cultures can learn, create, and build friendships together," said Rosa Villacorta, Founder of Connecting Through Culture. "When young people create side by side, they discover that creativity has the power to bring communities together."
Registration is now open. Space is limited to keep class sizes small.
