City of Lexington to Host Watch Party for Lincoln Park District and Dunbar School National Register Nominations
LEXINGTON — The City of Lexington is inviting the public to attend a watch party recognizing the Lincoln Park District and Dunbar School as their nominations are considered for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places.
The event will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Banks-Miller American Legion Post 255, located at 1 Arthur Drive in Lexington.
Mayor Jason Hayes said the nominations represent an important moment for the community.
“The City of Lexington proudly welcomes the opportunity for the Lincoln Park District and Dunbar School to be considered among the National Register of Historic Places, therefore appropriately recognizing their historic significance in our community.”
Attendees will be able to view a live stream of the National Register Advisory Committee meeting beginning at 10 a.m., during which both nominations will be formally considered for placement on the National Register of Historic Places, the nation’s official list of sites recognized for their historical significance and preservation value.
Remarks will be shared during the watch party and refreshments will be provided.
