Davidson County has postponed building a new EMS base in Silver Valley, despite already investing $62,000, because of ongoing staffing shortages. County Manager Casey Smith said the shortage of paramedics and EMTs makes it impossible to staff the base right now, and recommended holding the land while focusing on fixing staffing issues first.
Davidson-Davie will host the 39th Annual Central Piedmont EMERGENCY SERVICES COLLEGE to all emergency services and public safety industry personnel March 26-April 2.

Friday afternoon Lexington Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire on Thomason Street.
The Thomasville Police and Fire were both presented with a check totaling $18,000 following a golf tournament at Greensboro National Golf Club hosted by "First Responders of the Triad."
The Lexington Fire Department offered passersby a real treat on Thursday evening.
