The Dragonfly House Children's Advocacy Center announces new Davidson County location

The Dragonfly House Children's Advocacy Center, a local children's advocacy center providing comprehensive services for child abuse victims in Davidson and Davie Counties in North Carolina (Judicial District 22b, Prosecutorial District 33), is thrilled to announce the opening of a new extension in Davidson County, effective March 1st.

This expansion is a testament to their dedication to enhancing mental health and advocacy services, offering a specialized space for therapeutic support and collaboration among their dedicated team members. By broadening their reach, they aim to further empower children and families on their journey toward healing and resilience.

Their primary location in Mocksville, NC, will continue to provide investigative services such as forensic interviews and child abuse medical exams. While advocacy and mental health services have always been a cornerstone of their work at their main location, they are now expanding to provide these crucial services in Davidson County through a partnership with Lorven Child and Family Development.

In partnership with Lori Frank-Cecil and Lorven Child and Family Development, this expansion leverages their 13-year relationship to enhance service accessibility for their clients. Located in Davidson County at 264 E. Greensboro Street Ext. in Lexington, their new site at Lorven’s facility will offer a dedicated space for mental health services and team meetings. It is important to note, however, that their investigative services will remain at their primary location at 387 Valley Road, Mocksville, NC, as this new space is specifically for mental health support and team collaboration.

Lori Frank-Cecil, Director of Lorven Child and Family Development, stated, "We are ecstatic to welcome The Dragonfly House to Davidson County. Our 13-year partnership with The Dragonfly House has allowed us to collaborate with law enforcement, primary care physicians, schools, Child Protective Services, and the DA's office. “We are excited to offer this physical presence in Davidson County so that families residing in this county can receive exceptional mental health care as they heal from trauma and abuse" Cecil stated.

To support this new initiative, The Dragonfly House has curated an Amazon Wishlist, inviting community members to contribute essential items needed for the new space. This effort ensures the environment is both welcoming and functional for those they serve. You can view the list and make purchases at https://a.co/3xrYsBP or by clicking the “Davidson Mental Health Wishlist” button on their website (thedragonflyhouse.com).

Brandi Reagan, Executive Director at The Dragonfly House, expressed her excitement about the new location, stating, "This expansion allows us to broaden our impact and provide more accessible mental health and advocacy services to children and families in need. We are deeply committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for healing and growth in this new space."
