Updated LCS COVID-19 protocols

Lexington City Schools Board of Education approved updates to COVID-19 Protocols in alignment with NC DHHS revised tool kits.

  • Temperature screeners will be discontinued effective March 2, 2022.

  • District will continue to contact trace but asymptomatic close contacts are no longer required to quarantine. 

  • Masking for all stakeholders will be optional effective March 7, 2022 in all areas with the following exceptions in alignment with NC DHHS Guidelines:

    • A person who has tested positive for COVID-19 will be required to wear a mask for 5 days after the 5 day quarantine.

    • A person who is an asymptomatic close contact will wear a mask for 10 days.

    • A person who returns from COVID symptoms without a negative test or alternative diagnosis will be required to wear a mask for 5 days after the 5 day quarantine.
