Shooting Under Investigation
On Sunday, September 18, 2022, at approximately 12:36 p.m., North Davidson County Emergency Communications received a 911 call regarding a shooting that had occurred at a residence on Oakdale Lane, in the Tyro Community of Davidson Countyorth Carolina. While Deputies from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office and other emergency services personnel were responding to the scene, it was learned that the two victims had been removed from the location of the incident and transported to the parking lot of the West Davidson Village Shopping Center, located at 4705 Highway 150 South, Lexington, North Carolina.
Upon arrival, Emergency Services personnel performed live saving measures, however those efforts were unsuccessful and the male victim, Tyler Burgwyn Brady, 28-years-old, of Gold Hill, North Carolina, succumbed to the injuries he had received. The second victim, a 29-year-old female was transported by Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital where she received treatment for nonlife threatening injuries.
The suspect, who fled the scene prior to deputies arriving, was identified as Curtis Lee Wall, 40 years old, of the residence where the incident occurred. Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division arrested Wall for first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and felony assault.
On February 19, 2026, Wall was found guilty in a jury trial, in Davidson County Superior Court on the charges of first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle while in operation and possession of firearm by a convicted felon. Wall was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for the first-degree murder conviction and a minimum of 310-months on the additional criminal charges.
