WSSU Announces Promotion of Ronald Beverly, Shares Operational Updates

Winston-Salem State University has announced several leadership updates, including the promotion of Lexington’s Ronald Beverly to Assistant Vice Chancellor for Facility Maintenance and Operations.

Beverly, a WSSU alumnus, has served the university since 2022. His promotion follows a broader restructuring within the university’s operations division aimed at improving efficiency and reducing administrative costs. With Facility Planning and Construction shifting to the Deputy Chief Operations Officer role, the change allows for cost savings previously associated with the former Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities position. He is the former athletic director at Lexington Senior High School, member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and St. Stephen United Methodist Church.

The university also announced additional operational updates:

Gregory Bryant will begin his role as Deputy Chief Operations Officer and Associate Vice Chancellor for Operations on April 1, 2026. Bryant joins WSSU from Texas A&M Prairie View and will oversee an expanded portfolio that includes Business Services, Auxiliaries, Facility Planning and Construction, and Emergency Management/Environmental Health and Safety.

Dana Dupree, who has served WSSU since 2022 and is also an alumna, will continue as Associate Vice Chancellor for Financial Services. Her role now includes Financial Planning and Budget, a shift the university says has already resulted in administrative cost savings and improved financial integration.

University officials say the updates reflect a strategic effort to streamline operations while strengthening leadership across key departments.
