Thomasville Farmers Market Launches "Eat the Rainbow" Program to Promote Healthy Habits in Kids
Welcomes Aimee Young as New Assistant Market Manager

Thomasville, NC — The Thomasville Farmers Market is proud to announce the launch of its new child-focused nutrition initiative, Eat the Rainbow, beginning Saturday, July 5, 2025. This exciting program is designed to make healthy eating fun, educational, and accessible for local families while directly supporting our area’s farmers.

Each Saturday through September, children who visit the market will receive a $3 produce voucher to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables. Kids will also receive a colorful passport to track their fruit and veggie adventures throughout the season, encouraging exploration, engagement, and the development of lifelong healthy habits.

“This program is more than just a fun activity,” says Market Manager Jordan McLean. “It’s a way to connect families with local agriculture, promote nutritious eating, and build community, all while supporting our farmers. We believe healthy habits should be both exciting and accessible for every child.”

The market is also thrilled to welcome Aimee Young to the team as Assistant Market Manager. Aimee brings a background in public safety, a passion for local food systems, and a heart for community engagement. She will be assisting with market operations, vendor coordination, and spearheading community programs like Eat the Rainbow.

“We are incredibly lucky to have Aimee join us,” says McLean. “Her creativity, organization, and deep care for families make her the perfect fit as we continue growing and evolving.”

The Eat the Rainbow program is funded in part through community sponsorships and is a part of the market’s broader Food as Medicine initiative.

The Thomasville Farmers Market operates on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 21 E Guilford St in Downtown Thomasville.
