The groundbreaking Davidson County resident holds several statewide positions: Special Olympics Davidson County (SODC) Board Athlete Representative, Special Olympics North Carolina (SONC) Global Messenger, Special Olympics North Carolina Athlete Ambassador, North Carolina Law Enforcement Torch Run (NC LETR) Athlete Ambassador and a Unified Leadership Trainer for Special Olympic of NC. She wants to see as many athletes experience the sense of pride she has through the competition. “It makes me happy. I feel like I accomplished something.”

Lexington Farmers Market organizers are set to host the first annual Farm Fest benefiting local farmers. Rain or shine, admission is free for this family-friendly event on Saturday, October 1st from 4 to 10 p.m. at Bull City Ciderworks in Lexington.
The N.C. State Fair is honoring farm families again this year through the Farm Family of the Day program. The program, sponsored by Tractor Supply Company, saw great success last year.
The Welcome Meet & Greet is also open to life-long residents of Lexington, Thomasville, Welcome and throughout Davidson County who would like to welcome new residents and share their stories of the area.
