Davidson County Senior Services has started its twenty-fourth Meals on Wheels route in the High Rock Lake community.
Although the “Free Saturday Lunches” group has seen a recent influx of volunteers and labor, a problem persists. With the effort being entirely volunteer-led and donation-fueled, the continued provision of food to those in need can be difficult. As of now, there is projected to only be enough food and resources for the first quarter of 2026.
Social media is turning our brains into blurb-addicted zombies, and we don’t even crack open the books behind the beliefs we shout about. In this reflection, I’m challenging us—Christians, socialists, nationalists, everybody—to log off, pick up real books (especially the Bible), and let deep reading shape our convictions instead of TikTok clips and T-shirt theology.
