All youth artists, from K-2nd grade; 3rd -5th; 6th -8th to 9th–12th grade, are invited to participate. Entries will be categorized by age groups and judged by a panel of local artists. Artwork should focus on themes related to the Civil Rights Movement of 1964 or Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s life. Submissions must be completed labeled with name, grade, and school name (not required) and delivered to teachers, afterschool directors, or dropped off at the Arts Theater 202 by January 5, 2024.
The upcoming Lexington Book Festival will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Arts Davidson County at 202 North Main Street in Lexington. This book festival is made possible by a grant from North Carolina Humanities, a statewide nonprofit and the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

On Dec 1, 2023, Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Traffic & Criminal Enforcement Unit attended the 26th Annual Tree of Life Candlelight Vigil. The Vigil took place on the grounds of the State Capitol Building in Raleigh to honor those killed in traffic crashes on North Carolina roads.
