Since 2019, we have not been able to host the actual ride, so we are thrilled to be able to welcome back our riders on Saturday, July 16 at Denton FarmPark in Denton, NC.
The Davidson County NAACP-Lexington Branch with the support of the community and organizations have been sponsoring Free Fun Days at the Pool for children ages 0 to 17. for the past 20 plus years. It started at the Washington Park Swimming Pool. After the Splash Pad Park replaced the Washington Park Swimming Pool, the support continued to the Lexington Aquatic Park. This project has been very successful. This year the cost has had to increase from $1. per child to $2. This will still be a very successful year, 387 children will be able to go to the pool free of charge. Because there has been an additional donation, 87 children will be allowed to swim free instead of 75 on the last Tuesday, August 9, 2022!!

Shortly before 10:00 am today, Lexington Police Officers responded to a traffic crash on Fairview Drive near Fairway Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 2010 Pontiac G6 had crashed into the back of a North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) truck parked in the roadway so state crews could remove storm debris. A state employee occupied the NCDOT truck.
Lexington City Schools (LCS) Dual Language Immersion Program is currently enrolling students for the upcoming 2022-23 school year. Started in 2019, “Language immersion program is exciting option for parents who want their children to have the advantages of a rigorous academic program while also learning two languages - English and a target language.
