Long-time North Davidson Coach Pete Jones shaped the lives of more kids than he ever realized. He spent countless hours in the “Pete Jones Gymnasium,” working, fixing, prepping, and doing laundry. He always said Rita deserved the real credit for raising their own kids and running the household. He will forever be remembered as “Coach Jones.”
Larry was a private and humble man whose life was centered around his family and friends. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Vietnam Veteran. Following his military service, he worked as an automotive mechanic and later in the Lexington-Thomasville furniture industry. He was also among the ten students who desegregated Lexington Senior High School, a history-making role he carried with quiet dignity.
The Carolina Association of Paranormal Studies (CAPS), a volunteer investigative group based in North Carolina, recently completed a confidential investigation of the courthouse. Their verdict? They believe the building is haunted.

The family will receive friends from 5-8pm Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Mr. Briggs will lie in state from 10am to 12pm Friday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington prior to the funeral service.
Kiwana was the first full-time African American teacher at Lexington Senior High School. She loved encouraging students to learn and follow their dreams. Funeral service will be Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023 at 12:30pm with family visitation at Noon at St. Stephen United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at South Lexington City Cemetery. Public viewing will be Tuesday from 1:00 to 5:00pm at Roberts Funeral Service.
