As Black History Month comes to an end, here are more Black American achievements.
On Thursday, February 24, beginning at 8a.m. numerous citizens across Davidson County will finally get to follow through with an action some have been attempting since last year: file to run for a local office.
Emily Hege scored 44 points which pushed her above a record her dad has held for years. He had the record for the most points scored in Davidson County by a male of 2203. Emily finished the night with 2231.
Recently, I purchased a t-shirt that had big, pulsating red, black and green letters that spelled out I Am Black History.
After a several-year hiatus, leadership Davidson County is returning. The Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce and Thomasville Chamber of Commerce are offering the 32nd class of Leadership Davidson County sessions. Applications will be accepted at either the Thomasville or Lexington Chamber office at this time until March 7th.
Earlier this evening at a called meeting of the Thomasville City Schools Board of Education, the decision was made to begin optional masks/face coverings immediately.
The likelihood of encountering a person who has lived over a century is rare. The probability of encountering a person who has lived nearly a century is rare, too.
