On December 4th, 2023 at around 8 pm Davidson County Deputies responded to an address in the northern end of Davidson County in reference to a trespassing call for service. Registered sex offender Jager Leonard was at the residence trespassing.
NAACP to host 37th annual Freedom Fund Banquet Jan. 13
Tickets are on sale for the Thirty-Sixth annual Freedom Fund Banquet, honoring the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The banquet will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. on January 13, 2024 at Commons on the Green located at 200 Country Club Blvd in Lexington. Goose and Monkey Brewhouse won the Silver Medal in the North Carolina Brewers Cup Competition American Amber Lager Category for Seductive Mullet. This is the first state medal for owners Brent and Ashlee Moore. The GMBH team previously won Carolina's Championship of Beer, the World Beer Cup and the Great American Beer Festival.
Two Thomasville board members request leaves of absence
Days before the swearing in ceremony, the city of Thomasville announced the leaves of absence for Ron Bratton and Jeannette Shepherd. Both have requested leaves of absence through March 1, 2024 for health issues. City Council has approved the dual requests.
