Lexington Police Investigating Homicide at Johnson Concrete Products

Lexington, NC – August 27, 2025 – At 5:30 this evening officers responded to Johnson Concrete at 514 Burgin Drive in Lexington on a call of a shooting.

Officers discovered a victim inside one of the concrete manufacturing warehouses with multiple injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. The victim died at the scene from his injuries. He has been identified as Omarion Scott, age 21, of Lexington.

LPD Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene and are currently actively working leads and processing the scene.

Below is a follow up on this homicide investigation.

During the initial investigation into this homicide, detectives determined the suspect to be Tyrese Edward Cheek, age 21, of Lexington.

Cheek was arrested without incident in Lexington at 10:00 p.m.

Cheek is now being charged with murder for the shooting death of Omarion Scott.

This is still a very active investigation as detectives are continuing to process evidence and conduct interviews.
