Caught Doing Good: Faith, Family and Service Shape Thomasville Woman’s Journey
Some things words can not describe. As part of Davidson Local’s “Caught Doing Good” series highlighting individuals making a positive impact in the community, Deborah Gilmore is being recognized for the encouragement, faith, and compassion she brings to those around her. Her work with the 1973 Scholarship program has brought thousands of dollars and opportunities to students in Lexington, Thomasville and East Davidson.
For Deborah, faith, family, and community remain at the center of her life and the values she carries into every space she enters.
A graduate of Thomasville Senior High School’s Class of 1976 and Asheboro Business College, Deborah is known by friends and family as someone who enjoys encouraging others while staying deeply connected to her loved ones and community. She likes to stay behind the scenes.
Those closest to her say she has a special love for her family, especially her grandsons, and enjoys creating meaningful memories through travel, fine dining, and fellowship with those around her.
Deborah is also committed to health and wellness and enjoys spending time working out at the gym. Friends describe her as someone who consistently looks for ways to uplift and inspire others through both words and actions.
She is a member of the Classmates 1973, Alumni, and Affiliates, Inc. nonprofit organization, which operates under the motto “We Live To Give.”
Those who know Deborah say her life reflects a balance of faith, service, and joy while remaining grounded in the importance of community and family connections.
