Pilot International Selects Thomasville as Host City for 2027 NC District Convention
Building on a legacy of community impact and professional leadership, the North Carolina District of Pilot International is proud to announce that it has officially selected Thomasville, North Carolina, as the host city for its annual District Convention in April 2027. This "Timeless Thomasville" event aims to bridge the organization’s century-long history of service with the unique heritage and hospitality of the Chair City.
A Legacy of Service in Action The announcement follows the successful NC District State Convention recently held in St. James, NC. Demonstrating the organization's core mission, delegates participated in a massive service project benefiting the Baptist Children’s Homes (BCH) of North Carolina.
Delegates and attendees donated numerous backpacks filled with clothing and essential items designed to support a foster child’s first 48 hours of care, alongside a significant collection of pantry items and supplies for the BCH April Food Round-Up. While these donations served the eastern part of the state, Pilot leadership plans to deepen this impact in 2027 by partnering with the Baptist Children’s Homes headquarters located directly in Thomasville for the convention’s primary service project.
What is Pilot International? Pilot International is a global service organization fueled by a simple but powerful mission: to "do more, care more, and be more." For 105 years, Pilots have served as a "True Course" for their communities, specializing in the promotion of brain health and safety and providing a vital support system for those who care for others. From educating children on brain injury prevention to supporting families navigating the challenges of Alzheimer’s and dementia, Pilots turn compassion into local action.
Leadership and Local Economic Impact The 2027 convention is expected to drive significant economic traffic to downtown Thomasville’s small businesses and artisans. Kimberly Oliver, the 2026-2027 NC District Pilot Treasurer and a resident of Thomasville, is leading the effort to ensure the event serves as a landmark moment for both the organization and the city.
"We aren't just maintaining a club; we are building a professional organization’s future," says Oliver. "By focusing on strategic partnerships and community engagement, we are ensuring that the 2027 convention serves as a showcase for Thomasville as a premier destination for professional service organizations."
Sponsorship Opportunities As planning begins for this high-profile event, the North Carolina District is inviting forward-thinking local businesses to consider investing in the 2027 convention through various sponsorship tiers. These partnerships offer a unique platform for brand recognition among a diverse wave of professionals from across the state.
