Davidson County Sheriff's Office investigates customer fraud and bounced check

Davidson County-In November of 2025, Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division began an investigation involving an incident of fraud that occurred on October 02, 2025, at Shuler Meats, 124 Shuler Road, Thomasville, NC. The results of that investigation determined that Mohamed Morsi, age 51, of Trinity, North Carolina made a purchase at Shuler Meats in a deceptive manner with a worthless check. An arrest warrant was obtained for Morsi, charging him with felony obtaining property by false pretenses and felony worthless check.

On November 20, 22025, members of the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office arrested Morsi for the outstanding arrest warrants pertaining to this investigation. Morsi was placed in the Cleveland County Jail under a $2,500.00 secured bond and will appear in Davidson County District Court.

Per North Carolina General Statute 15A-532, Judicial officials determine conditions for release of persons in Judicial proceedings. Bond amounts are not set by members of law enforcement. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
