Chair City Christmas set for Dec. 19, Marking Seventh Year of Free Holiday Celebration
With Christmas music in the air, hot cocoa in hand, and Santa on the way, Chair City Christmas is once again transforming Thomasville into a scene straight out of a Hallmark movie.
The City of Thomasville will host the seventh annual Chair City Christmas on Friday, December 19, at 6pm., inviting families and visitors to gather for an evening of holiday cheer. The free, family-friendly event will feature Christmas music, hot cocoa, Santa Claus, and a free gift for every child. Heaters will be on site to help keep guests warm throughout the evening.
Tammy Joyce with Main Street Economic Development said the atmosphere of Chair City Christmas captures something special.
“It feels like we’re in a Hallmark Movie,” Joyce said, adding that “you can feel the Christmas Spirit.”
Jason Tuggle, pastor of Mount Zion, echoed that sentiment and emphasized the importance of slowing down during the holiday season.
“It’s got that Hallmark Movie feel,” Tuggle said. In an interview, Tuggle referred to Santa as “the big guy with a big bag,” noting that the event is about taking time to slow down, be present, and make memories with family and friends.
City leaders emphasized that Chair City Christmas is open to everyone, with no charge to attend, reinforcing the city’s commitment to inclusivity and community connection.
