Comedians Wanted for Davidson County's “Jokes on Main” Comedy Night

Got Jokes? The spotlight is waiting, and the mic is yours.

Arts Theatre 202 is putting out a call for local comedians to take part in “Jokes on Main”, a new community comedy event designed to bring laughter—and a little light—to Lexington's Main Street. The show will take place on Saturday, July 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be hosted by local comic Destiny West.

Organizers are looking for stand-up performers. Sets should be between 5 to 15 minutes. A brief tech rehearsal will be required ahead of the performance. This is your chance to perform in front of a live audience, promote your work, and support local arts. All experience levels welcome. Clean–PG-13 sets preferred.”

Participants will have a chance to connect with a live audience, gain stage time in a professional setting, and be featured across the organization’s promotional platforms. Oh, and yes—they’ll keep you fed and hydrated, too.

“It’s about more than just the laughs,” the team behind the event notes. “It’s about building joy, connection, and support for the arts here in our community.”

Interested comedians should email amanda@artsdavidsoncounty.org with a brief bio, video clip (if available), and their intended set length by the application deadline: June 19.

The event will be held at Arts Theatre 202, located at 202 North Main Street, Lexington. For more details, visit artsdavidsoncounty.org.
