I won’t go to Church, because it’s full of hypocrites

This is a true statement; the church is full of hypocrites:

1.      All of the people who will condemn drug addicts and alcoholics while being gluttons and weighing over three hundred pounds and going to the buffet.

2.      Church people who will condemn homosexuality all the while watching pornography and turning a blind eye to sex outside of marriage for straight people which the bible equally condemns.

3.      People who proclaim the loudest how Christian they are but will condemn the homeless and refuse to help out anyone misfortunate.

4.      Church people who will condemn epileptics as demon possessed and insurance problems and wont let them in their church.

5.      Politicians that will claim to be Christians while worshiping false gods in their masonic lodges and try to close homeless shelters and take money that should be used for the benefit of the county by building sports complexes only so they can skim off the top.

6.      Those who will turn people away at then door because they aren’t dressed correctly.

7.      Pastor’s who won’t speak on hell or sin and try to conform their worship services to the world and run their churches like businesses and in so doing reject the bible they proclaim to believe in.

8.      Liberal pastors who twist scripture to make some people feel more welcome and included but do nothing to save souls by calling out sin.

9.      Left or right pastors and parishioners who turn the church into a political party supporting one or the other secular political movement.

10.  Lots of laity that claim to be saved and only show up on Christmas and easter, if that and claim that that’s their church even if they don’t darken the doors.

Yes, the church is full of hypocrites.  It irritates me as much as it supposedly bothers those who make the statement this article is entitled, but the thing is I think they are lying when you get right down to it.

1.      The people that make the statement I won’t go to church because of all of the hypocrites are just as hypocritical as any of the supposed Christians listed above.  They cheat on their taxes, look at pornography, don’t give a crap about the poor and less fortunate but at the same time take a hypocritical view of those people who show up at church and try.

2.      Ultimately those who make this statement tend to be people who would rather spend their Sundays and every other moment they have pleasing their own selves rather than worshiping God or doing God’s work among the people.

Yes, we are all hypocrites, there is no getting around that.  The thing is we need to take to heart isn’t are there hypocrites, it is that we need to learn to be more introspective, to look into our own hearts, to read the bible, to learn the faith, and to allow the Holy Spirit to enter into us, to change us, to reform us into the people God wants us to be.

None of that is going to happen unless we dedicate ourselves to the faith, unless we become a visible part of the body and bride of Christ, the church. I am not defending the hypocrisy of the church, that cant be defended, I am saying you aren’t going to get any better as a person, you aren’t going to be the Christian you might claim to be unless you are in the church.

Its about time we stopped trying to judge the church and judge others and started turning the mirror back on ourselves.  It’s about time we open our own bibles and walk through the church doors and become the Christians we are meant to be.
