Final Days to Support a Local Cause: Fundraiser Ends August 9

THOMASVILLE, NC — A heartfelt call for support is going out to residents of Davidson County as a meaningful community fundraiser enters its final stretch. The event, which wraps up this week on August 8 and 9, 2025, aims to uplift some of the most vulnerable populations in our community—disadvantaged high school students, rising freshmen, individuals experiencing homelessness, and those in need of shelter.

“This event is a win-win for Thomasville, Davidson County Schools, and the Lexington community,” said organizer Robert M. Gilmore, a proud Thomasville Class of 1973 alumni and retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant. “We ask the public to help us finish strong by attending, donating, or simply spreading the word.”

Supporters can make a direct donation by scanning the QR code on the attached flyer, and are encouraged to share the event through social media and other networks.

The organizers are also seeking high school student volunteers, who can earn community service hours by participating in this cause.

“We praise God for ordering our steps, energy, and drive to do His will in giving back,” Gilmore said. “This is about making a difference and being a blessing to others.”

To volunteer or get involved, contact the organizers directly or visit the fundraiser event during its final two days. Every act of generosity helps make an impact.
