LCS appoints new LSHS principal, administrative transfers announced

The Lexington City Schools Board of Education approved the following recommendations from Superintendent Dr. Nakia Hardy at their monthly meeting on Wednesday, August 2:

  • Jermaine Porter will be the new principal at Lexington Senior High School. Currently, he is the Director of Human Resources and Equity with the Alamance-Burlington School System.

  • Jihan Harvey has been transferred to Southwest Elementary Global Academy where she will serve as principal. Previously, she’d been at Pickett Elementary School in the same position.

  • Dr. Judy Richards is now the principal at Pickett. She was principal at South Lexington School prior to the move.

  • Katiana Desgrottes will start the school year in the role of Interim Principal at Charles England Elementary School. She joined LCS last year as the assistant principal at CEES.

  • Nathan Tongel, Career Development Coordinator at LSHS, has been promoted to assistant principal at CEES.

  • Retired LCS administrators Gina Spencer and Jackie Miller will serve as Co-Interim Principals at South Lexington School/Developmental Center.
