Wandering Pig and other Goose and Monkey Beers Bring Awards to Davidson County
.Goose and the Monkey Brewhouse Wins Four Medals at 22nd Annual Carolinas Championship of Beer
LEXINGTON, N.C. (April 11, 2026) — Goose and the Monkey Brewhouse earned top honors at the 22nd annual Carolinas Championship of Beer, held during the Hickory Hops Beer Festival in Hickory, North Carolina.
The competition, held April 11 from 1–6 p.m., featured breweries from across the Carolinas and was judged by industry professionals as part of one of the region’s longest-running craft beer festivals.
Goose and the Monkey Brewhouse was awarded two Gold Medals and two Silver Medals, including:
Gold Medals
Wandering Pig — New England Hazy IPA
Cloud Control — New England Hazy IPA
Silver Medals
Sour Riot Strawberry — American Sour Ale
Bion — Imperial Stout
All of the brewery’s beers are crafted using locally sourced malt from Carolina Malt House, reinforcing its commitment to supporting regional agriculture and producing high-quality, locally rooted beer. The Bion Imperial Stout further showcases that focus, brewed with coffee beans roasted in-house by Perfect Blend Coffee Co., adding depth and character to the award-winning stout.

Wandering Pig, Cloud Control, and Sour Riot Strawberry are currently available in the taproom and select retail locations across the Triad, Charlotte, Hickory, and the High Country.
