SCAM ALERT: Fraudsters Posing as Law Enforcement in Davidson County
The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about scam calls reported this morning.
Fraudsters are pretending to be law enforcement officers and demanding payment for supposed fines using Apple gift cards or Bitcoin. This is a scam.
The Sheriff’s Office will never request payment over the phone or ask for payment using gift cards, cryptocurrency, or similar methods.
Residents are urged to speak with family members—especially elderly loved ones—about these scams. If you receive a suspicious call or are unsure whether a call is legitimate, do not hesitate to contact the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office directly.
