FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE at Davidson Correctional Center — Empowering Incarcerated Men to Become Entrepreneurs

Lexington, NC – October 27, 2025 — LaunchPad Academy (LPA) is proud to announce the 3rd cohort of its transformative entrepreneurship training program, beginning November 1, 2025, at Davidson Correctional Center. Over the course of five weeks, 25 justice-impacted men will engage in intensive instruction, mentorship, and practical business development designed to equip them with the tools to build sustainable, self-sufficient futures.

Founded and directed by Cathy Robertson, LaunchPad Academy is a mission-driven platform that provides entrepreneurship education tailored for incarcerated and recently released individuals. Through structured teaching, hands-on projects, and one-on-one mentoring, participants develop the mindset, skillset, and support necessary to ideate, plan, and launch viable business ventures upon reentry.

“At LaunchPad Academy, we believe that entrepreneurship is one of the most powerful tools for rehabilitation and restoration,” said Robertson. “By unlocking creativity, discipline, and purpose, we help participants reimagine what’s possible for their lives—and for their communities.”

Mission

To ignite the entrepreneurial spirit in justice-involved men by delivering holistic, practical business education that transforms lives, builds community, and generates economic opportunity.

Vision

To transform correctional facilities and reentry centers into hubs of innovation, self-reliance, and hope.
