Local officials express concern about a proposal calling for expanding emissions-producing gas-fired compressor units in Iredell and Davidson counties
Late last week, the Lexington, North Carolina, City Council passed a resolution highlighting concerns around the proposed Southeast Supply Enhancement Project. Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Company, LLC — a subsidiary of Williams Companies commonly referred to as Transco — wants to construct 54 miles of methane gas pipeline and increase the horsepower of methane gas compressor stations in Virginia and North Carolina.
Local residents, property owners and environmental advocates are coming together to discuss a controversial methane gas pipeline proposed for Davidson County. A public informational meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 1, from 6:30 to 8 pm at Midway Church in Lexington.
