Warm Hearts, Warm Hands Initiative Launches in Thomasville

Warm Hearts, Warm Hands Initiative Launches in Thomasville

Thomasville has introduced a new community effort aimed at supporting residents during the winter months. The Warm Hearts, Warm Hands initiative places coat hooks at every bus stop shelter in town, creating an easy way for people to donate or pick up cold-weather items. More details about the program can be found here.

Thomasville City Clerk Wendy Martin described the effort, saying:
“This effort is about more than just staying warm—it’s about showing compassion and solidarity. Every item hung on these hooks is a gesture of kindness that can make a real difference for someone in our community.”

The city encourages residents to participate throughout the winter season by donating new or gently used coats, hats, blankets, gloves, and other warm items. All items placed on the hooks are available for anyone in need.

The initiative is designed to provide ongoing support and accessibility, allowing community members to help one another with minimal barriers. Updates and responses from participants are being shared through the Facebook post linked above.
