State Senator Steve Jarvis Recognized as NC Chamber Champion

State Senator Steve Jarvis has been named a “Chamber Champion” by the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce. The designation appears in the Chamber’s annual “How They Voted” report, which highlights legislative votes the Chamber considers business-friendly.

According to the NC Chamber, “How They Voted uses a standardized formula to objectively assess the voting performance of North Carolina legislators on the bills that were most consequential to NC Chamber members and the state’s business community. These bills are organized under the NC Chamber’s three pillars of pro-business advocacy: Education and Talent Supply, Competitive Business Climate, and Infrastructure and Growth Leadership.”

The NC Chamber notes that the recognition is not an endorsement of any candidate, though some observers point out the timing coincides with the start of election filing.

Jarvis, who represents District 30, previously served six years as a Davidson County commissioner. He has a background as a general contractor and currently serves on several Senate committees, including Agriculture, Commerce & Insurance, Transportation, and Regulatory Reform.

In his December 5th weekly newsletter, Jarvis’s staff highlighted his “Perfect Score” on the NC Chamber’s report, emphasizing his alignment with the organization’s pro-business priorities. He has received similar recognition in past legislative sessions.
