Lexington Yard Sale Event Focuses on Community, RV, Simplicity and Second Chances for Household Items
Residents across Lexington are being invited to clean out garages, closets, and storage buildings during a new community yard sale event designed to bring neighbors together while giving unwanted items a new home.
The “All You Need Is Less” Community Yard Sale is scheduled for Saturday, May 23, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 501 Cotton Grove Road. Organizers say the event will move forward rain or shine and will also feature an RV on site.
The event is centered around the idea of downsizing, decluttering, and creating a welcoming community gathering space where families can shop, sell, and connect.
Organizer Michael Evans said he hopes the event offers people both a practical and positive experience.
“We wanted to create something simple that brings people together while also helping families clear space and maybe make a little extra money,” Evans said. “Sometimes all you really need is less, and this gives people a chance to downsize, connect with neighbors, and keep useful items moving through the community instead of throwing them away.”
Vendor spots are available for $10 and may include a table. Tables and chairs will also be available for participants throughout the event.
Organizers say the community sale is open to families, collectors, small vendors, and anyone looking to spend the morning browsing affordable finds while supporting a local community atmosphere.
Plans are already underway to continue the event on a monthly basis.
