A Heartfelt Tribute to Kathleen Danze: A Lexington Luminary

From the loving perspective of her son, Harrison Danze, we share a heartfelt message of appreciation for Kathleen Danze, a cherished figure in the Lexington community. A proud graduate of Lexington Senior High School, Kathleen was an active Key Club member in her formative years, where she met and later married the late Tom Danze. Tom, a man Harrison describes as having "the heart of rhodium," will forever be loved and remembered by the Lexington community for his extraordinary kindness.

Kathleen's deep-rooted compassion and generosity have always shone brightly. Harrison fondly recalls that she made every friend feel like family, and her dedication to helping children was unparalleled. She consistently sought out ways to support young people, even organizing a Box Top Drive when Harrison and his brother, Robert, were in elementary school at South Lexington. This early act of community spirit perfectly illustrates her proactive and selfless nature.

A distinguished alumna of the Class of 1976, Kathleen furthered her education at Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, ultimately building a successful career as an interior designer at Collezione Europa before her well-deserved retirement. Both Kathleen and her late husband, Tom, were deeply involved in the community, serving as active members of the Lexington Booster Club until 2011, a testament to their unwavering support for local endeavors.

Beyond her remarkable contributions, Kathleen's most profound impact is evident in the values she instilled in her sons. Harrison emphasizes that his mother taught him and Robert the crucial importance of always doing the right thing, even when no one is looking, and to stand up for others who are unable to stand up for themselves. These powerful lessons in integrity and advocacy have shaped their lives.

Kathleen's vibrant personality is also defined by her joys: she loves to give hugs, read, visit the beach, enjoy the outdoors, connect with her classmates, give back to the community, and meet children of all ages. Thanks to Harrison and Robert's football careers over the years, she's also a beloved Carolina Panthers fan. Today, Kathleen spends her days embracing life and cherishing her family.

From all of us at Davidson Local, we extend our deepest gratitude to Mrs. Danze. Thank you, Kathleen, for everything you have done for our community over the years. Your kindness, dedication, and enduring spirit are truly appreciated.
