EnergyUnited’s Bright Ideas program has expanded learning opportunities for students and teachers for over 25 years by awarding grants to North Carolina teachers to support innovative, classroom-based projects that wouldn’t typically be funded by schools.

Oh my! It was another big week for the Davidson Local team. Reporting the news is always exciting for our staff but the past few weeks added an extra layer of education.
In early August, Sharon Styffe took the helm as the Davidson-Davie Community College director of the Small Business Center to help provide support and guidance to local owners. Styffe describes her role as helping local businesses connect passion with a wealth of resources.
The Davidson County 911 Center is excited to announce the launch of Prepared Live in our dispatch center. The software, built by the company Prepared Inc., (Prepared911.com) enables our 9-1-1 dispatch center to livestream, receive multimedia, and GPS location data from mobile callers in real-time.

Registration fees are $180 (which includes a t-shirt) for the 12-week fall semester and parents can register their children online through the Arts Academy at Grace website. Governor Roy Cooper announced the N.C. Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) will award over $17 million in grants to fund 39 local parks and recreation projects across the state. The North Carolina Parks and Recreation Authority (Authority) approved the grants at its meeting held on Aug. 26 at the Nature Research Center in Raleigh.
