Liberty Baptist Church Thomasville charged with embezzling 150,000

On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, Betty Fowler Collins, of 4437 Kennedy Road, Thomasville, NC was arrested with warrants drawn by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.

Collins was charged with Embezzlement in excess of $150,000.00 and 8 counts of Forgery. The arrest was a result of an investigation that began In March of 2021 and spanned back to 2009. Collins is accused of taking funds from her employer, Liberty Baptist Church in Thomasville, where she served as Secretary-Treasurer until August of 2020. Collins was placed under a $25,000.00 secured bond and has a court date of June 24, 2021.
