Deputies Charge Thomasville Suspects in Violent Stabbing, Abduction Case
Press Release: On Thursday, August 27, 2025, deputies with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Patrol Division responded to a reported stabbing at 477 Mt. Zion Church Road in Thomasville, North Carolina. Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim who had sustained multiple stab wounds. Davidson County Emergency Medical Services provided immediate medical care, stabilizing the victim before transporting him to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for advanced treatment.
The Davidson County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division and Crime Scene Unit were notified, and immediately detectives began a thorough investigation. Evidence revealed not only the stabbing of the male victim, but also the assault and kidnapping of a female victim, who was forced by the assailants to facilitate their escape.
Through swift investigative efforts, detectives were able to quickly identify the suspects as Larry Brandon Jones (DOB: 02/20/1978) and Paula Kay Boyd (DOB: 04/15/1984). Working closely with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team, both suspects were located in Randolph County, and taken into custody without incident.
Larry Brandon JONES was charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon intending to kill inflicting serious injury, 2nd degree kidnapping and larceny of a motor vehicle. He was taken before the magistrate in Lexington, North Carolina and is being held with no bond. JONES is scheduled to appear in the Davidson County District Court on September 24, 2025.
Paula Kay BOYD (DOB: 4/15/1984) was charged with assault, 2nd degree kidnapping, larceny of a motor vehicle and accessory after the fact. She was taken before the magistrate in Lexington, North Carolina and is being held with no bond. BOYD is scheduled to appear in the Davidson County District Court on September 24, 2025.
