On August 28th, 2025, Detectives of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division stopped Christopher Brandon Yokeley for driving with a revoked driver’s license along Highway 29/70, Thomasville North Carolina. During the stop, Yokeley and the passenger, Bridgette Gallimore were found to be in possession of approximately 50 grams of fentanyl and an ounce of methamphetamine, along with several pieces of drug paraphernalia.
Despite an outcry from service providers for immediate assistance Davidson County Commissioners say they want more information before agreeing to hire a coordinator to expedite the process of spending $25 million in Opioid Settlement Funds.
On March 27, 2025, members of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office and the High Point Police Department arrested Williams on criminal indictments following an infant's toxicology report, which indicated fentanyl as the cause of death.
Sunday, September 3, 2023, Ian Eugene Butler, who was already in the custody of the Davidson County Detention Center, was served with a warrant for arrest charging him with one count of 2nd-degree murder and one count of death by distribution.
