As spring hits its stride and Lexington’s streets come alive with color, Uptown is setting the stage for an afternoon where wine glasses clink, shop doors swing open, and music drifts through the air. On Saturday, May 17, the Uptown Wine Down returns, inviting locals and visitors alike to sip, stroll and explore all that the district has to offer.
Uptown Lexington was established in 1994 and is funded through a municipal service district tax. Property owners within the district contribute an additional 20 cents for every $100 of their property's value. Additionally, the City of Lexington provides the organization with an annual grant of $75,000.

The Lexington City Council unanimously approved rezoning Oct. 9 to allow the project to move ahead. The partners in the development are Daniel Smith, broker in charge/owner of Red Link Realty; Adam Warfford, owner of Warfford & Co.; Todd Warfford, owner of Todco and Best Disposal; a silent partner; and a limited partner, Standell Corp.
