Indie author and local dentist Daniel Siceloff announces the release of his newest book, The Hygienist: Dental Horror. Written in a Hitchcockian-style and inspired by 15 years of practicing dentistry in Welcome, NC, this is the author’s first novel in both the horror and dental genres.
On Saturday, August 9, 2025, the Edward C. Smith Civic Center in Lexington came alive with local history and art. Hosted by the Davidson County Historical Museum, Lexington Public Library, and the Civic Center, the event showcased a unique pallet wood art exhibition and explored North Carolina’s moonshine and NASCAR roots.
County Commissioner Matt Mizell shares memories, recognizing the dedication of its staff, while expressing concern over the aging infrastructure and limited resources that hinder its potential.
Mizell writes, “In an increasingly divided world, public libraries stand as living symbols of our founding values that united us: equal access to information, freedom of inquiry, and the liberty to navigate a spectrum of ideas without coercive indoctrination. They are not relics of the past, but cornerstones of our future.”
