He highlights how early Christians grew through personal evangelism, thorough instruction, and empowering members for ministry—practices he argues the modern Church must recover. Long says that returning to these first principles is essential if congregations hope to thrive and pass on the faith to future generations.
This column challenges Christians to live out their faith beyond labels and politics. Drawing on James’ teaching that faith is shown through works, it calls believers to stop “playing church” and start being the church—loving God, loving others, and following the Lamb rather than political parties. True Christianity, the piece argues, should transform lives so visibly that issues like hunger and homelessness would diminish if believers actually practiced what they profess.

We live in a time of great uncertainty, as we witness the wildfires burning in California we must continue to pray and and seek the face of God we should know with great certainty that help is on the way!
As we find beauty on the cold winter’s day, we may also see our strength because the cold months actually can show us how blessed we really are.
Snow has a way of reminding us that it is God’s gift to us from Heaven.

The word of God teaches us in the scripture Luke 2:15-18, “Oh come let us adore him.” God sent his son to be the only savior of the world. It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
As we meditate on the word of God this week, let us remember that our hearts are stirred with joy this Thanksgiving. Remember always when we give thanks we focus on what we do have from God, that we do not deserve.
Let us face the transitions in life with strength and courage. For God is telling us that being strong is not only just in a physical sense but also in a moral sense.
Let us always put God first, trusting that God knows exactly what he is doing. The shoulders also bear responsibility and power.
As we meditate on the word of God this week, let us remember that God can calm the raging sea. The raging sea cannot harm the children of God, therefore be of good cheer and always know that our God can calm the raging sea.
As we meditate on the word of God this week, let us remember sometimes storms can cause immense damage and can take precious lives, but God is strong enough to help us through all things for our God is bigger than our storms.
