On Friday, June 27th, justice was served for 177 dogs in Davidson County! This is a case that ACF {Animal Care Foundation} has been working with our DCSO Officer Soles and Cpl. Daniel since December 2024. Thanks to an anonymous tip, from a concerned citizen, we started on the ground with this case. One by one, month by month, as of, this past Friday, ALL dogs, including their personal dogs, have been removed from the property. This includes the horses too.
During this investigation, it was discovered that Roger and Robin McLean were in possession of over 100 domestic dogs. Multiple Cruelty Compliance Orders were issued and Rescue Organizations assisted in treating and removing these animals from the residence.
Three people have been arrested and charged with felony animal abuse.
On Wednesday, a jury found Zachary Ryan Everhart guilty of assault inflicting serious bodily injury, assault inflicting serious injury, and common law robbery. Everhart was sentenced to a minimum of 2.5 years to a maximum of 4.5 years in prison.

The Animal Welfare Section of the Veterinary Division of the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services recently awarded nine community shelters grants as part of the Animal Shelter Support Fund program.
