Thomasville Police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at Sheetz, 1810 Liberty Dr., at approximately 6:24 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim outside the store who was pronounced deceased at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.
The Thomasville Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that occurred at Sheetz, located at 1810 Liberty Drive.
Lexington Police Chief Robby RummageAppliance King on Cedar Lane Drive has asked the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation to lead the investigation.
A second arrest has been made in the ongoing investigation into the murder of Jyisaiah Cuthrell, who was shot and killed on July 24th in Lexington.
The suspect now identified as Jarvis Lewis Carroll, age 21, of Lexington has been arrested without incident at 225 Tucson Way in Davidson County. He will be charged with the murder of Jyisaiah Cuthrell. The Davidson County Sheriffs Office assisted LPD at the scene of the arrest on Tucson Way.
At 4:30 p.m. on May 1st, the Lexington Police Department (LPD) officers responded to calls about multiple shots being fired repeatedly by a rifle in the area of E Third Street and Pine Street. Officers responded swiftly and a Shelter in Place was issued at 4:48 p.m. for the safety of residents in the area. It was determined that the shots were being fired from a residence on Pine Street.
The victim was identified as Jade Campsey, age 25, of Lexington. Officers quickly determined that the shooting occurred on Smith Avenue near Miller Street. The victim is being treated at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. There are no current updates on her condition.
On March 6, 2025, Donna James was arrested and charged with one count of feloniously assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflicting serious injury. On March 25, 2025, Joshua Shane Sizemore was arrested for feloniously assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflicting serious injury.
During this ongoing investigation, detectives were able to identify the person responsible for the shooting of a 19-year-old woman at Finch Park last Saturday evening.
The Lexington Police Department (LPD) received a 911 call at 6:07 p.m. reporting a 19 year old female had been shot while sitting at a picnic table. Reports were that no one saw a suspect at the scene.
A Davidson County man was charged by the Davidson County Sheriff's Office after a shooting incident on Leonard Road.

On Wednesday, November 29th, 2023 deputies with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office responded to 7106 NC HWY 8, Lexington. Upon arrival Deputies located five subjects suffering from gunshot wounds on the property.
